The story started in 2007 when Tomas Chleborad, the founder of the company, got his first job in international recruitment. Since then, he has been helping global companies to recruit top talent across European borders.

There are companies out there launching novel biologic DMARDs –physicians recruited by Tomas are present. Certain businesses are launching novel anticoagulants and PCSK9 inhibitors; some are evaluating the commercial opportunity presented by JAK-STAT inhibitors – all of those activities being executed by employees who once were Tomas’ candidates.

Over the years, Tomas had the opportunity to work in search agencies, to see different search cultures. The service that clients receive in Basel International Search is therefore predominantly inspired by the Swiss-German recruitment style and practice. It means working with precision rather than with over-exaggerated rush; preparing to present facts rather than reciting template sales speeches.

Tomas was born behind the Iron Curtain into a coal miner's family. He attended high school in Dijon, France and became the top Art History student in that country. He holds a BSc in Business Administration from the Helsinki School of Economics in Finland and Aarhus University School of Business in Denmark. He runs nowadays his own international business in Switzerland, has lived in a total of five European countries and speaks five European languages.
